The New C-Tech Intake for Audi: Design
Throughout the development process, Sprint Filter’s technicians focused on achieving the utmost performance by extensively utilizing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to optimize airflow and maximize engine output.
Overcoming the challenges posed by the limited space within the RS6 engine bay, which is further constrained by the lower hood section, the entire airbox has been reengineered. By enlarging the air intake section, we have successfully increased the volume of air reaching the intake system and optimized the filter angle for the turbos. Additionally, we significantly augmented the turbo inlets, further enhancing performance.
To ensure smooth and efficient airflow, the C-Tech Intake Kit incorporates an organic-shaped system, complete with a dedicated panel filter, as customary with C-Tech products. This design approach minimizes sharp edges and promotes laminar flow, reducing turbulence and enabling the turbos to generate thrust more efficiently.
Employing the finest carbon fiber processed using advanced autoclave techniques, the weight has been minimized, resulting in a total weight of just 1.284 kg, including the complete filter box, air filter, sleeves, and intake adaptors made of PA12 using Multi Jet Fusion technology (MJF). The third objective was to create the most exclusive intake system for the Audi RS6 and RS7 on the market, and utmost attention has been given to every detail, including the carbon fiber mounting brackets and the seamless integration of carbon fiber panels.
New C-Tech Intake for Audi: Performance
Like all C-Tech kits, the Audi RS6 and RS7 C8 kit is entirely plug-and-play, requiring no hardware or software modifications. When installed on a completely stock vehicle, the C-Tech Kit increases power by 18 to 25 horsepower, with torque gains ranging from 15 Nm to 28 Nm. For even greater performance, customers can combine the C-Tech Kit with stage 1 ECU tuning or opt for stage 2 modifications, which involve replacing the downpipes, upgrading the intercooler, and mapping a dedicated ECU (applicable to models up to 2020 with ECU remapping and models from 2021 onwards with an additional electronic module).
The adoption of the C-Tech intake kit, along with stage 1 or stage 2 modifications, allows power gains of 60 to 85 horsepower, with torque increases ranging from 45 Nm (stage 1) to 95 Nm (stage 2), depending on the components used and the tuning of the electronic systems.
The AU-01-CTECH Kit is designed for the Audi RS6 (C8) and the RS7 (C8). The retail price is 2900 € (Euro), excluding VAT.
