Sprint Filter performance at the heart of the new Ducati Panigale V4 R

Every Ducati “R” model is born for racing, and at the heart of the brand-new Panigale V4 R lies Sprint Filter’s high-permeability air filter — the same technology trusted in MotoGP and Superbike. Unlike traditional paper filters, Sprint Filter’s polyester element, supported by dual stainless-steel meshes, reduces pressure drop by 37%, directly contributing to the bike’s maximum power output.

The Panigale V4 R is the latest descendant of a saga that began in 2001 with the legendary 996R, the foundation of Ducati’s Superbike dominance. Produced in a numbered series with its model name and progressive number engraved on the top yoke, the new V4 R embodies the most advanced racing DNA.

At its core beats the 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R, designed for World Superbike and evolved according to the same philosophy that guides Ducati Corse in MotoGP. It delivers more sustained torque and power curves, peaking at 218 hp, with an average gain of +4 hp from 4,000 rpm up to maximum power, and +4 hp at 16,000 rpm. Torque is also raised across the range, with a +7% increase at 6,000 rpm and a maximum of 114.5 Nm at 12,000 rpm.

For maximum efficiency on track, Sprint Filter adapted his P08 high-permeability air filter to the new V4 front dynamic air intake developed with Ducati Corse. Compared to the standard Panigale V4, its lower edge is extended by 70 mm, increasing air pressure at the filter by 0.6% at 300 km/h. This gain translates into denser airflow and an additional +1.3 hp at the same speed. The intake edge is made from a special deformable material, designed to withstand contact with the front fender during the most aggressive braking phases.

From aerodynamics to intake systems, every detail of the Panigale V4 R reflects Ducati’s uncompromising approach to racing — with Sprint Filter performance at its core.

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 218 hp maximum power, with an average gain of +4 hp from 4,000 rpm to peak power.
  • Torque curve raised across the rev range, with +7% at 6,000 rpm and a maximum of 114.5 Nm at 12,000 rpm.
  • Top speed of 318.4 km/h, reaching 330.6 km/h with the racing exhaust
