After winning the Supersport 300 World Championship with Alvaro Diaz riding the Yamaha R3 for the Arco Motor University team, Sprint Filter began the development of an air filter kit for the Yamaha R3 in collaboration with AG Motorsport Italia Yamaha at the beginning of 2023. The bike is piloted by Matteo Vannucci, a rising star in the Supersport 300 World Championship.
Matteo Vannucci and the AG Motorsport Italia Yamaha team recently delivered an incredible performance during the Italian round of the Supersport 300 World Championship in Imola. They secured a victory in Race 1, a second-place finish in Race 2, set a new track record, and achieved a second-place position in the overall standings.
The objective of this project was to improve the fluid dynamics within the filter box without making any internal modifications, as stipulated by the FIM regulations. Therefore, Sprint Filter completely redesigned the air filter, altering its housing to prevent turbulence of the airflow against the filter wall within the airbox.
The adoption of the Sprint Filter K44 air filter does not require any hardware or software modifications. It is available in two variants: the P08 F1-85 filtering fabric (Part Number K44S F1-85) and the P037 variant (Part Number K44S-WP), which is suitable for heavy usage or adverse weather conditions. Both air filters can be installed on all Yamaha YZFR3 versions from 2014 onwards.
