Sprint Filter: new filters for Honda Civic Type-R FL5
Sprint Filter is pleased to announce the availability of the Honda Civic Type-R (FL5) performance air filters line with the three different filtering media: P08 air filter to increase the performances of your car for street and track use, P037 air filter specifically developed for demanding conditions and dusty regions and the P08F1-85 filtering media to gain the max performences of the Civic Type-R FL5. All the Sprint Filter air filters don’t need any ECU adjustment and permit to maximize the potential of the Honda OE air intake system.
The Honda’s air intake system is renowned for its innovative method to control the intake pulsation of the normally aspirated engine, optimizing the response and drivability. It is a high-performance air intake system distinctively designed to lower the intake air temperature.
The increase of density air filter material allows for greater particle collection capacity but decreases airflow. Thanks to the innovative proprietary technology, the Sprint P08 and P037 air filters show increases in almost identical performances, despite the filtering power of the P037 (37 microns) being almost triple that of the P08 (80 microns). To achieve this, Sprint Filter has significantly reduced the diameter of the threads that make up the P037 fabric (50 micons) compared to the P08 (70 microns). With the P08 F1-85 Sprint Filter has created a polyester fabric significantly reducing the diameter of the wires up to 22 microns, maintaining a mesh opening of 85 microns, almost identical to that of the P08.
It is therefore not by enlarging the air passage holes that Sprint Filter allows for better performance, but by reducing the diameter of the threads that make up the fabric.
